KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Friday night watched the musical theatre "Kita" at Istana Budaya.
Also present at the one hour show were Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim and wife Datin Seri Masnah Rais and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon.
The musical with the 1Malaysia concept which began Thursday until June 27 was held to mark Najib's anniversary as Prime Minister.
"Kita" tells the story of love, unity and multi-culturalism portrayed via Rahman, Cheong dan Amish. It was set in a rubber estate in the 1970s in Teluk Intan, Perak.
"Kita" had been listed in the Malaysian Book of Records as a musical theatre with a cast comprising the most number of races.
It is jointly organised by Xi Yue Art and Culture with cooperation of the Prime Minister's Department and the Information Communication and Culture Ministry.
Directed by Ho Lin Huay, the cast include Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan, Hafiz AF7, Nas Adila, Eric Lin and Michael Rao.
Najib also received a certificate from a Malaysia Book of Records representative on behalf of the Information Communication and Culture Ministry as recognition for the show. -- BERNAMA
